My Church Family (“the app”) is made by Sung hwan Cho (“we”). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be short and plain.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address and password, used to sign in and to reset your password. Passwords are stored securely by our sign-in provider and are never visible to us.
- The display name and profile photo you choose.
What you share with your family
- Families you create or join, and your place in the Focus Day order.
- Check-ins: how you are doing, prayer requests, written posts, replies, and photos.
- Prayers (“I prayed”), reactions, words of encouragement, answered prayers, and the prayer request you write for your Focus Day.
Notifications
- If you allow notifications, a push token for your phone, so family members’ prayers and encouragement can reach you. Reminder settings are kept on your phone.
Bible reading
- Bible chapters are loaded from a public Bible service (bible.helloao.org). We do not send your name, email, or any account information to it. Your last-read chapter is kept on your phone.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not show ads, sell your information, or track you across other apps and websites.
Who can see your information
- Your family members see what you share in that family: your name, photo, check-ins, prayers, and messages. People outside your family cannot see them.
- Service providers that run the app for us, only to provide the service:
- Supabase — stores accounts, family content, and photos.
- Expo (650 Industries) and Apple Push Notification service — deliver notifications.
- Apple — distributes the app and, in future versions, handles purchases.
- We may share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your own posts (and their photos) at any time, leave a family, and a Family Keeper can delete a family for everyone, which removes its posts, prayers, and messages.
Reporting and hiding
Tap ••• on any post to report it or to hide posts from that person. Reports come to us, and we review them within 24 hours. We remove content and people that break our rules: there is no place in My Church Family for hateful, abusive, or objectionable content.
Deleting your account
In the app, open the menu and go to My Account → Delete my account. This removes your account, profile, posts, replies, prayers, messages, your profile photo, and the photos you posted. If you were a Family Keeper, the next person in the Focus order becomes Keeper; if you were the last member, the family is deleted. You can also email us to ask for deletion.
Children
My Church Family is meant for church small groups and families. Children under 13 should use it only with a parent or guardian who manages their participation. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without a parent’s involvement; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Family content and photos are protected so that only members of the same family can read them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
